NO PEEK PONG (aka Audio Pong)
Exploratorium, San Francisco
$2.1 M NSF award
User research: summative
A twist on the classic “Pong” video game, played with eyes-closed. Enables a direct and playful experience of how our brain localizes sound. The volume and pitch of the virtual ball varies as it approaches the paddle. A screen above the kiosk coaches players. When software detects a few balls are successfully hit, a visual representation of the game is replaced by a "CLOSE YOUR EYES" message.
