Speed of Sound Visualization

I wanted to empower visitors to experience how slow sound travels compared to light—just as we hear thunder only after seeing lightening. To achieve this, I designed and installed a multiple microphone LED system that lights up at various points each instant a sound arrives. The video shows the system being installed on the 230 foot "Echo Tube" at the Palace of Fine Arts.
